RR
Project Description
Responsive Resourcing (RR) aims to spotlight public health barriers and potential resources unique to the diverse communities or “hubs” of Houston, including Gulfton, Sunnyside, Pasadena, and Third Ward, to help alleviate health gaps in these hubs. RR enables students to engage in volunteering, research, interactive workshops, and collaborations with community health workers (CHWs). Through these experiences, students will learn about the non-medical drivers of health specific to Houston and the unique role of CHWs in building healthier communities.

Opportunities for RR Volunteers
RR volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about community-specific issues through direct collaborations with community health workshops (CHWs), interactive workshops, and research projects. The schedule rotates between volunteering/research meetings and workshops. Most events occur in a hybrid format. Ultimately through RR, you can help bridge health disparities and gain unique knowledge with the CHWs whom you will be working together with.
