Warren Luckett

Warren Luckett is an accomplished entrepreneur, with more than 15 years of experience in owning a successful business. Luckett earned a bachelor of science degree in finance from Morehouse College, in 2007. After spending a short time in trading at Morgan Stanley, in New York, Warren was eager to return home to Houston. Here, he earned a master of business administration from Texas Southern University’s Jesse H. Jones School of Business.

In 2016, Luckett established Black Restaurant Week, which is dedicated to celebrating the flavors of Black American, African and Caribbean cuisines, nationwide. The annual campaign features 1,700 restaurants, food trucks and caterers. It has garnered over 1 billion searches, 750 million impressions and features in local and national media outlets, such as Good Morning America, Bloomberg, Forbes, Food & Wine, CNBC, the Huffington Post and Essence. Through continued partnerships with corporations such as Levy, PepsiCo, Anheuser-Busch, Grubhub and Maker’s Mark, Black Restaurant Week continues to expand its model across North America. In 2021, Black Restaurant Week grew internationally to Toronto to further its mission of stimulating local economies and promoting awareness of minority-owned businesses.

Luckett’s professional and civic affiliations have included the Court of Master Sommeliers, Houston Minority Supplier Development Council, City of Houston’s “Minority Business Enterprise” and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.

He was named one of The Houston Chronicle’s “Most Stylish People of 2017.” He has also served on the junior board of the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture and the board for the Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce (GHBC). Here, Luckett has also served as the board treasurer and second vice-chair. Additionally, Luckett is part of the Hilton College Dean’s Advisory Board.

In 2020, Luckett became a founding member of the Feed the Soul Foundation. Feed the Soul was established to aid marginalized entrepreneurs in the culinary industry through business development resources and support, in an effort to foster sustainable business growth.
